Where to get approval
Building Control Performance Standards
Performance Standards were first introduced in July 1999 and set functional requirements for building design and construction. The standards were revised and updated by the Building Control Performance Standards Advisory Group (BCPSAG) in June 2006 and a new system of building control performance indicators (BCPIs) was developed.
The BCPIs and the associated guidance were further revised in 2012 by BCPSAG with input from the Building Control Alliance (BCA) and its constitute bodies.
BCPSAG carried out a further review of the Standards and associated guidance in 2013 and published a revised document in 2014.
View the latest guidance documentation the BCPSAG pages on the Gov.uk website1.
Publication of BCPIs results and further information about the role and responsibilities of the BCPSAG can be found on the BCPSAG pages on the Gov.uk website2.
