Understanding and assessing flood risk

Your LPA will need to check Standing advice for local planning authorities¹ to find out if they need to consult the Environment Agency and Lead Local Flood Authority for advice on your application.

If consultation with the Environment Agency or Lead Local Flood Authority will be needed, you should consider asking them for pre-application advice. You can request advice from the Environment Agency using this pre-planning application² enquiry form (preliminary opinion).
