Legislation Title
SI 2013 2137 – The Town and Country Planning (Hearings and Inquiries Procedure) (England) (Amendment) Rules 2013
Description
The purpose of these instruments (SI 2103 2114, SI 2013 2115, SI 2013 2136 and SI 2013 2137) is to speed up the process for determining appeals relating to applications for planning permission and applications for listed building and conservation area consent. They require appellants to submit their full case up front with the aim of reducing the time taken to determine the appeal. They also introduce statements of common ground in hearings, expand the scope of the truncated written representations procedure and further align the procedure for advertisement and listed buildings appeals with planning appeals.
