What are the transaction limits for the Nominate payment option?
There is a transaction limit of £1,000 when paying by debit or credit card. This limit applies to both the nominate option and direct payments. If the fee for your application is over these limits you will need to opt to pay by bank transfer.
Please ensure that you (or your client, if you are an agent) uses the application reference number, beginning 'PP' (for planning applications) or 'BC' (for building control applications) as a reference when making any payment, otherwise we won't be able to match the payment to the application. With bank transfers this is simply by giving the payment a reference.
If paying for a planning application by cheque (not available for building control applications), the reference number, starting 'PP', must be written on the top-right on the back of the cheque. These instructions are shown clearly on the screen.
Please note: the application will be released to the local authority considerably faster when opting to pay by bank transfer.
