What information was published regarding the 2023 fee increases?
Planning Portal maintained a blog post with all relevant details1 for two months leading up to the change. This included a ‘forthcoming’ fee schedule2 that provided a quick reference guide to the increases.
Warning banners informing users of the change were in place on the application service from mid-November, and email notifications from the payment service were also changed to warn users of the forthcoming changes.
Local Authorities and higher volume users were also sent email communications.
Government provided:
- Details of the progress of the amending legislation through its parliamentary approval process
- The amending statutory instrument in its draft and final versions
- A Chief Planners newsletter detailing the changes once the date was confirmed.
