How do I agree a building control fee amount?
An application fee will need to be agreed with the building control body that you submit to, and you will need to enter the agreed fee amount into the application. If you don’t already have a fee amount agreed when you come to start your application, you can request one through the on-screen prompts within the application journey.
From the application overview screen, choose ‘Manage fee’, you will be asked ‘do you have a confirmed fee?’ If yes, you can enter the agreed fee and if you have one, a reference number from the building control body.
If you don’t have a fee agreed you will need to request one, choose ‘No' and answer questions relating to your application. This will enable the building control body to ascertain a fee. They will receive a notification that you have requested a fee amount, which they can calculate and confirm. You will receive an email acknowledgment prompting you to open your application and confirm the fee to progress to pay and submit the application.
Please ensure you enter the fee amount including VAT, except for a Regularisation Certificate which is VAT exempt.
